AJ! No more injuries. You had a career full after taking that fastball in Johnson City. Good luck, heal quick and I'll see you in March.

Cool, insightful read AJ. I think many Fans that are non-athletes don't really know how many times this can happen over the course of any given athletes career.

What questions did youre wife come up with before the anasthiesa kicked in?

    LOL

Heal up and go get 'em for the Cats / Rd. Wings in 2014!

AJ, well written and insightful. Thanks for giving us a peek. When the doctor said "no exercise," I hope he just meant no wind-sprints or tackling dummies. You can at least go for walks, right?

Get better soon, then show us your baseball super power!

Are these surgeries & therapy100% covered by the team. I have always wondered about how injuries and recovery are paid for -especially for minor leaugers.

Thanks! He said I need to avoid things that make me sweat, I think it's more to avoid infections than anything. So light walks would probably be find. Also, exercise on pain meds isn't very safe.

Yep, it's like any other work comp injury. I was hurt on the "job," so that's how it's dealt with.

Thanks! Injuries are no fun, hope you are feeling better. They are awesome, don't know what I would do without my wife!

Thanks AJ, wonderful to hear from you again. Nice image with the ligaments/Twizzlers thing. Our family--especially my boys--wish you well. They are big fans, after you took the time to visit with them this summer after a home game. It was after 11:30 p.m., the mosquitoes were thick outside the stadium, and your wrist was probably throbbing, but you signed their game balls, talked about your blog with me, and made their vacation out East even more special. Rest well, heal up, and we'll be cheering you on next year! Take care.

Thank you for the well wishes. I'm glad y'all enjoyed your trip, I remember you. It is always nice meeting quality people through baseball. Enjoy the fall.

Clearly AJ is also spending time on the internet during his downtime.....

AJ, what's it like to read peoples' opinions on line? How do you and your team mates react to stuff on line?
    Lighten up Francis....

Haha, that is definitely true. I'll probably get a little stir crazy soon.

It is interesting, but it can't affect the way we think about ourselves. If other's opinions change our confidence (for better or worse), we aren't going to make it very far. It is always better to stay even keel and internally motivated.

Ya, it does happen, it's part of the game. I hope she didn't ask anything too crazy, I probably wouldn't remember!
