Valencia shouldn't have stopped. Once you take off you gotta keep going, pitch out or not. You stop and your done everytime

Perkins is coming off a shaky outing. I hope the results are better today.

I think Burton and Maloney will be very good in middle innings and setup roles. Maloney has always been a starter so I wonder if he'll be considered if the plague of injuries continues for the rotation.

    I guess not.

Man Texas sure has Perkins' number. Wonder what his deal is the last couple of days?

He had a career year last year. That's all.

I posted on Twitter that the Rangers have been so aggressive against Twins pitchers with the exception of Perkins. They lay off the fastball just above the belt and don't swing at the slider. Gotta wonder if Perkins gives something to indicate what pitch is coming?

And here is our 2012 bullpen. Though I blame Gardy too: why not leave Burton in to face two RH batters and then bring in Perkins to face Hamilton. Rangers are RH heavy and kill LH pitching.

Mauer's GIDP doesn't worry me. If we can get someone on in the 9th, Clete will end it with another HR.

Will Mauer have the dignity to restructure his contract for 13 million/year, which is still more than he's worth, and use that 10 million to get some pitching? If I were him, I'd be embarrassed.

Morneau has to get back out into the field. He is killing himself dwelling on each at bat sitting in the dug out

Another bad outing by Perk. Another non-productive day for the M&M's.

But Carroll's failed bunt may have been the most frustrating moment of the day for me.

That whole inning changes if he's able to move Span over.

It's only getting rougher from here - not looking forward to reading the recaps of the Yankees games.

In a way I'm glad the Yankees are coming up. A good showing in the Bronx might inspire some confidence in this team, which is I think what they need more than anything. It's an opportunity for them to show that this year can be different.

It seems like they're in a situation where they feel like they need to play flawless baseball in order to win and thus are playing like a team afraid to make mistakes and trying to make too many perfect plays.

Of course, I'm afraid it will more likely be the same 'ol story, same 'ol song and dance in New York. But if they did manage to take the series, it would give me a different feeling about the rest of the year.

Today we see the opposite side of the silliness of pitcher wins as a stat. Earlier, Gray showed getting a win is silly. Today, we saw that not getting a win is silly. Hendriks did his job so well that if you got that kind of pitching every game you'd easily win 100 games a year, yet he doesn't get a win. Silly stat. As for the Twins, 70-75 games....that's it. And I fully expect Span to be traded at some point this year, in a huge blunder.
    Lighten up Francis....

How long until we find out Perkins is injured? I don't honestly think that's the case, but given the luck we've had...
