    They're not white, they're European.

Nats fans here (including my son) couldnt wait for Nats to Nyjer somewhere...anywhere...if we give this guy a dime...I will also throw up.
I would rather have Little Nicky Punto as my utility OF...and that is a really desperate thought.

On the plus side, the cardboard cutouts might generate more walks then their real counterparts.

I speculated somewhere that TR will go out and give a CF a 1 year deal. I think it makes a ton of sense. Both Arcia and Hicks coudln't hurt to have a bit more seasoning in AAA, and Benson definitely needs it. Get a guy on for cheap and then dump him in June and call up Hicks to man center if he's performing. If Arcia and/or Benson is doing well then trade Willingham and/or Morneau for middle infield or pitching help.

It makes no sense whatsoever. That's just another excuse not to spend on legitimate starting pitching. The Twins are fine with current personnel in the OF.

By the way, I accidentally hit the back arrow and lost a significant part of my blog post. So it will be done tomorrow. One damn simple misclick and 200 words . . . gone.

You can have a personality without being a total D-bag.....

No no. It was gone. Nothing too terrible, but I haven't gotten back around to it. It was a section on the middle infield and I dreaded having to write about that one time, much less twice.

I believe that Brian Sweeney is out there - non tendered by the Red Sox. Can play any of the outfield positions, pretty good left handed hitter.

I think they ought to treat Hicks as Puckett, Hunter, Span and the rest. Bring he up and let him play.

White Sox signed RHP Jeff Gray to a minor league contract.

Gray had a rough go of it with the Twins in 2012, compiling a 5.71 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 26/22 K/BB ratio over 52 innings of work. He may have a chance to compete for a job in the White Sox bullpen

Giants signed OF Cole Gillespie to a minor league contract.

The 28-year-old is coming off a strong season at Triple-A Reno where he hit .308/.390/.494 with 13 homers, 66 RBI and 11 stolen bases. The former third round pick possesses a nice blend of power and speed and should compete for a reserve outfield job with the defending champions.

Dodgers signed INF Dallas McPherson to a minor league contract.

The 32-year-old former top prospect hit .265/.344/.490 with 17 homers and 62 RBI in 81 games at the Triple-A level in 2012. He's always shown the propensity to mash the baseball, and could get a look from the Dodgers if the unproven Luis Cruz struggles early on
