Mauer, Suzuki, Pinto, Willingham, Arcia, Kubel, Parmelee

Two guys need to sit. Pinto and Arcia need to play. Arcia nearly every day. Pinto at least 2 starts in 3.

Once a player has 5 years of service time they cannot be demoted to the minors without consent. If they don't consent, the team either needs to keep them on the active roster, or release them and continue paying them (minus the difference in any new contract from another team).

So this is why it is not a "no-brainer" to sign guys "because you can always trade them." I will keep the identity of said quotester a secret, but, you know who you are.

Kubel is a no brainer to me, Suzuki sits when Pinto is catching because he has absolutely no other value. On the days Suzuki catches DH Pinto, if Hammer has been the DH then sit him, if he has been in LF let Arcia play there instead of being the DH. Outfield defense is apparently of no concern to the Twins anyway.

    1. What does calculus have to do with baseball? Please explain because I would really love to know.
The field of statistics is a completely different entity that mathematics. Any of the baseball writers spinning ideas have only used basic concepts of statistics. What they do use is a capacity to think a little bit about a problem .
    2. What other options? Bonifacio's .215 for the month of May? Sizemore is hitting that for the season. Overpay for Granderson to get similar production? Nyler Morgan is a defensive liability. There were not a whole lot of options much different than what they were doing. Fuld played about as well here as anyone picked up has done. Like Bonifacio, he would have regressed back to his mean.
