According to the gamecast, Hughes is up in the zone. I don't like pitchers continually pumping fastball after fastball up in the zone.

That's Phil Hughes' bread and butter. Like Scott Baker, he can thrive up in the zone.

Took a good defensive play to put out Hicks, and now Escobar is on.

Bottom of the order still pulling its weight.

Can't really be mad at the Hicks at bat either. He hit that pretty solid, which is good to see.
You can come up with statistics to prove anything. Forty percent of all people know that.

That has to be frustrating for him. He hit that pretty good and the outfielder barely caught it.

I couldn't be a player because of bad eyesight, so I decided to be an umpire instead.

He probably has his own greasatologist... Takes her with him on the road... Grease traps under his locker.

Says things like... Let's go with the Bacon Grease today... That Silicone stuff didn't work... I got lit up.

Hughes is now pitching in Target Field, not Fenway or Yankee Stadium. Ortiz can't homer on a lazy flyball in this stadium. He'll have to crush it to get it out... Obviously, Ortiz is fully capable of doing that but it makes his job harder.
like yesterday and the day before? Twins pitchers would have been better off putting it on a Tee for Mr. Ortiz.

So hot, Buchholz ignited into flame from 60 feet 6 inches away.
