According to Bob Nightengale, the Twins are out on Arroyo. The finalists are Diamondbacks, Dodgers and Orioles.
Perhaps the Twins could be switching there attention to the reportedly cost reduced...

If we are going to get a defensively less than stellar outfielder on our team, I'd rather get Juan Pierre. Two seasons ago he still hit for over .300 and swiped 37 bases. If he could hit even .270...

Yeah, Mauer having his statistically worst (healthy) year after moving to a less demanding position doesn't make a ton of sense.
What is also troubling is our biggest power threat hits only 20 HRs...
So we are under the assumption that the Twins are signing no one else that will make the team out of spring training? That's unfortunate.

If a batter is looking for a one year deal to up his value, the Twins and Target Field are not likely the place he's most likely to do it. I wouldn't mind being wrong though.

I think Torii Hunter needs to be put in there somewhere. I believe it was he and Morneau that nearly got into fisticuffs early in Justin's career.
I miss the Twins having a bit of fire in there...
