2016 Stohs Prospect Handbook Profile: White grew up in Las Vegas and attended Bishop Gorman High School where he was a teammate of Rangers’ prospect Joey Gallo and played against Bryce Harper and Kris Bryant. He stayed home and went to UNLV where he was a three-year starter. He hit .223 as a freshman, but hit .335 and .318 in his final two seasons. He broke his hamate bone late in his junior season which caused him to drop to the 18th round and caused him to sign late. He played in 13 games between the GCL and Elizabethton after rehabbing. At 5-11 and 225 pounds, White is stocky and very strong. It is yet to translate to home run power but could in time. He drives that ball to the gaps. He has a good approach the plate and is willing to walk. Defensively, he has a strong arm and is well above average at the hot corner.
