2016 Stohs Prospect Handbook Profile: Walker was a two-year letterman in baseball at Arlington Martin High School. He stayed at home and went to the University of Texas in Arlington where he was a starter for three years. He was a freshman All-American and hit over .300 all three seasons. The Twins used their 18th round pick on him in 2013. He went to Elizabethton and hit .267 in 42 games. In between, he also played in six games with Cedar Rapids. He was with the Kernels throughout the 2014 season, though he began the season in the Disabled List. He hit .239/.296/.299 (.595) in 76 games. Walker is 6-0 and 160 pounds. He’s very thin, but he is terrific with the glove. He can play shortstop, but he’s mostly played second base because of Vielma. Offensively, he is a contact hitter who slaps the ball around the field.
