2016 Stohs Prospect Handbook Profile: Theofanopoulos is from Pleasanton, California, and went to Cal-Berkeley as a two-way player. In three seasons, he got 53 at bats and hit .283/.361/.453 (.814) with three doubles and two homers. There was no question his future was on the mound. In three years, he went 4-10 with a 5.02 ERA. He didn’t pitch a lot the last season with a wrist injury. The Twins were able to get him in the 30th round in 2014. He went to the GCL and posted a 4.23 ERA in 27.2 innings. He struck out 30. At 6-1 and 185 pounds, Theofanopoulos is quite athletic. He has a smooth delivery so his 91 mph fastball gets in on hitters. His improved breaking ball helped him miss bats. Also throws a changeup.
