2016 Stohs Prospect Handbook Profile: | The Twins signed Rosario out of the Dominican Republic in 2010. He spent the 2011 season in the DSL. He posted a 3.86 ERA in 35 innings. He came to the States in 2012 and posted a 1.64 ERA in 38.1 innings. He walked 19 but struck out 42. He posted a 2.82 ERA in 44.2 innings in Elizabethton in 2013. The southpaw made three starts in April of 2014 before he needed Tommy John surgery. At 6-1 and about 175 pounds, Rosario is a tremendous athlete. He’s got a fastball in the mid-90s that reaches 97. He’s also got a slider that he’s working on and a changeup as well. Coaches and scouts have told him he looks like Francisco Liriano when he pitches. He is high-energy and a good teammate. |
