2016 Stohs Prospect Handbook Profile: Drafted in the second round out of the talent-rich state of Georgia in 2010, Goodrum is an incredible athlete. At 6-3 and about 200 pounds, Goodrum is long and lanky. Many still believe that he will grown and gain strength. He played shortstop the first three years of his career, and that is his best and most comfortable position. However, his athleticism allows him to be quite versatile. He has played a lot of third base the last two years, but he saw more time in centerfield in 2016. To this point, he has had strong streaks with the bats, but is yet to put up a solid full season of numbers. Like his cousins, former big leaguers Otis and Donell Nixon, Goodrum has very good speed and is a good base stealer. Joe Pittman, who spent parts of three seasons in the early ‘80s in the big leagues, in Goodrum’s uncle.
