The Rockies have announced Jamie Moyer will start game 2 of their 2012 season.
At age 49.

I was flabbergasted. Not necessarily that he made it as a fifth starter somehow. But as the second starter?

I hope Moyer keeps pitching until he's 50. He's definitely an oddity. he's had a pretty damn good career, especially beyond the age 35, 82mph fastball and all.

2 good things for Moyer:
1. His first start will be against the Houston Astros, the team with the worst W/L record in 2011.
2. The game will be played in Houston, not Colorado.

Excellent. There's still a MLB player older than me.

We should all wish to be so lucky when we're closing in on the half-century mark. I'll be happy just to be playing first base for a church softball league when I'm that old.
