Mijares to the Giants.
A lot of teams passed on Jose Mijares for him to be claimed by the San Francisco Giants.
He has actually pitched well for the Royals this year. Punto won a ring with the cardinals last year, will Mijares win a ring with the Giants in 2012?

No. I think the Nationals or Dodgers will beat the Giants.
And it is odd how many teams passed on Mijares. But still, he's had his best season out of Minnesota, as many former Twins always seem to do, which makes me suspect something is up.

Mijares, like JC Romero, had some very good seasons with the Twins.
For the Giants to go far in the playoffs, it is all dependent upon Tim Lincecum.

The reason that KC let him go (per the KC GM) and likely why the other teams passed on him is that with him having a good season and being in the second year of arbitration, he will cost around $2.5M, which is something that most teams are not willing to pay for him. A contender can keep him and non-tender him after the season is over.
