Willingham to go on paternity leave Wednesday
Just read they might call someone up while Josh is out.
Any rumours on who will get the call up?

Good for him! His wife, Ginger, is an interesting follow on Twitter. Seems like a solid family.
Don't know about the callup...keep hearing Dozier? Or the ever elusive 3rd catcher?

Look at the 40-man roster and pick one:
Revere
Mastroianni
Butera
Nishioka
Arcia
Tosoni
The last 4 are less likely for different reasons (Nishioka and Tosoni are injured)
So it will be Revere-----

Maybe starting pitching....?

I would agree with that.
And it definitely seems that the Willingham family is a good one. Ginger is a great follow on Twitter. Family first. Always!

You gotta think Revere is called up because they've already exercised an option on him this year. Oh, and he's an outfielder.

Having adopted Mastroianni this morning, I am legally compelled to woof for him and state that he is the obvious callup. Obvious, I tell you. He is Ben Revere with an arm. He is Clete Thomas with an eye for the strike zone. He is Denard Span with... erm, a little less of everything, never mind. Anyway, the obvious callup.

The case for Brian Dozier is this: Jamey Carroll might just need a day off. Dozier could come up and give him a day off and give Casilla a day off and then go back down.
The case against is: Is it really worth adding him to the 40 man roster for that? Probably not.

I'm pulling for Ben to be called up. However I think the point of this thread should be to congratulate Josh and his wife. A child is bigger than anything he will ever do on the diamond.
If it's a Boy... The obvious name should be Will. Or Xifan.

Congratulations to Josh on his new addition to the family. Hopefully he picks up where he left off when he gets back!

I didn't even know Josh was pregnant! He's not even showing.
Seriously it will probably be Revere

Run like Revere. Per Joe C., Ben is back.
And congrats to the Willinghams.

Ben Revere will be called up from Triple-A Rochester when Josh Willingham is placed on the paternity leave list Wednesday.
Willingham could be back as soon as Friday, so it figures to be a pretty brief stay. The speedy 23-year-old is 6-for-27 (.222) since being sent down to the minors earlier this month.
