Is it just me or is Capps changing speeds much more this year?
Capps seems to be mixing in the new splitter effectively and more breaking pitches. His pitches were down and mixed well last night. I'm encouraged.

Last night, a routine ground ball to second came off a splitter. The night before, he struck out a lefty with the splitter.

You make a great point. We all like the saves, and many of us are expecting an implosion any time now. We hope that it doesn't happen until we think about his option for next year, and then, well I can't speak for everyone else, but my brain just kind of locks up. With the Twins current spending habits, I'd just as soon not see them commit 6+million to a closer who has been up and down as much as Capps over the last 4 years. Of course I want to see him pile up saves, though.
