Thread: hrbek statue

I'm so super excited for the hrbek statue on Saturday!
Any guesses about the pose? Or better yet, any insider info on what it is?

A beer in one hand and a fishing rod in the other?

Hopefully it's him wearing the robe from the hrbowski commercial

I'm sure it's the jump from the 1987 World Series. But I second the notion for the statue to include canned beer.

Gotta be one of these! If they can make a bobble head out of him tossing Gant, why not a statue?

Its gotta be the grand slam in 87 world series right? Hometown kid living the dream of hitting a grand slam in the World Series? Thats gotta be it. I dont think Hrbek would appreciate a statue of him and Gant from '91.

I'm gonna say this one time. If he lifted Ron Gant off the base he's the strongest man in the world. You would need to be in order to lift a grown man off the ground by the ankle with one hand while wearing a baseball glove. I was also thinking the slam but that pose may be a little too similar to the Puckett pose.

Is there anything else it could be? I know there is a video of him at the '87 Series doing the Baron von Raschke claw taunt and saying, "This is where we want it to be, and that is all you need to know." But I don't know who- besides myself and other fans of the old AWA promotion- would appreciate that.

It could be him doing the "walking man" with his fingers and fans left early from a game. Actually, I love that idea. Have it facing the gates as people walk out, mocking them for leaving a game early. Lord, but that would be a Hrbek thing to do.

Maybe one of him in a duck blind with a rifle, ala his adventure before Game 7 in '87?

Maybe lifting an imaginary beer to his lips saying its ok to drink at the ballgame but bob casey says its forbidden to smoke.
