Mauer, Morneau, and Liriano all rebound nicely.
Hughes forces his way into the lineup every day.
Capps stomach explodes after attempting a Minneapolis buffet marathon. Perkins replaces him and becomes the new closer and never lets go of the job.

Liriano will get Cy Young votes.
The defense gives up 55 or fewer unearned runs.
The Twins will score more runs than they allow.
They will be in position to buy at the trade deadline, but Ryan won't be willing to dip into his surplus of OF in order to bring in the stud SP they need.

someone breaks into target field and plants some spruce trees under the batter's eye to reverse the curse.

- The bullpen puts up a combined 2.50 ERA
- Marquis wins 12 games

-Twins surprise the doubters and are in contention throughout the season
-5 games out in July trade for Grienke and lock him up to a 4 year $72 million deal before the end of the season. I'd think a package of Hicks, Wimmers and a PTBNL would entice the Brewers should they fall out of contention.
-Twins win the 1st wc, but Gardy burns through Grienke and Liriano to secure home field advantage in the one game playoff and Liam Hendricks gets drilled by the Rays and the Twins exit the playoffs.
-Gardy wins MOY

Capps will struggle right away causing Perk to be made closer. Morneau, Plouffe and Hughes all hit 20 at least HRs. Mauer's average stays up over .300 all year. Willingham is a bust. Jamey Carroll goes down with an injury and Brian Dozier is made starting SS. Twins finish 2nd in the Division but don't get a WC spot.

Thanks to the new MLB rule change that further emasculates the importance of the division races AND the top wild card spot, the Twins will now be competitive in the only regular season race that has a win or go home significance. - 5th best.

Perkins replaces Capps as the closer in May. Morneau, Mauer, and Liriano have very good years. Willingham delivers. Valencia has good year. Overall relief pitching terrible. Casilla has good year. Every other starter except Scott Baker is lousy. Team goes 76-86.
