I think if Parmelee and Plouffe are playing well that the twins will most likely trade Morneau and Willingham for pitching and middle infield help.....that is if they are playing well.

The Twins don't seem to have any MI that threaten to hit with authority, other than maybe Dozier, until Rosario is ready. Polanco may know how to swing a bat but he is a long way away (and a 2B). This is precisely why I wanted the Twins to try Dozier at SS again. Apparently they have seen enough. OK. If they are sure he's not MLB SS material then I'm sure they're right.

A lot of us are anxious to have Sano (20 yo), Rosario (21 yo) and Vargas (22 yo) light up Fort Myers this year. How sad is that? A+ ball is a long way from MLB. Alas... We have the outfielders coming on now, MI a couple years behind.

Is Travis Harrison at 5 if he sticks at 3B and at 6 if he has to move over to 1B?? I'm going to guess that maybe you intended to put Vargas in at 6??

In all seriousness though, thanks for the write up. Appreciate the insight and its nice to get an idea of where everybody is likely at. I'm hoping to catch a couple Kernels games and hopefully a Rock Cats game as well after I move out east this summer.

Agree on the Escobar part, he'll not only hit a bit better than Pedro (although nothing significant), he'll be a better glove as well.

Sano and Rosario could be ready as early as mid-2014. That's not that far off at all. Vargas may move more slowly.

Any chance Colabello could spend a few months in Rochester learning 3b/RF? If he could backup Plouffe and/or platoon with Parmelee in RF he'd be getting darn close to locking in a spot on the 25-man.

Parmelee would have to have a pretty damn impressive start of the season AND they would have to have another OF tearing it up to make it worth trading Morneau. We've gotten used to about half a season's worth of production from Morneau, so we've kinda forgotten just how good he can be. I like Parm, but he is nowhere near MVP Morneau when he's healthy.

Plouffe's performance won't really factor in to wether or not they trade Morneau or Willingham, unless they plan to trade one of them for a 3b and send Plouffe to the OF

Probably Not.

Based on this list, Sano needs to go back to SS... Who cares if he cannot play defense. (that's a joke)

IF Morneau is the Morneau we knew from 2006-2010, that's a guy we want, though not at $13-14 million. And, Willingham is worth more than the $7 million he's going to make this year and next. So I absolutely think that they need to get a significant return for Willingham to trade him, otherwise, keep his power in the lineup.

You have no idea if we'll get what we want for them. We got what we wanted out of Ben Revere and more. Don't underestimate TR or the desperation of 29 other GMs.

What exactly do Morneau or Willingham bring to the table that ultimately is going to help the Twins back to the playoffs? I think many people feel the Twins won't compete until there are some new players. Since Ryan doesn't want to spend in free agency the only way to get said players is to wait for prospects to develop. Our prospects won't be ready, well enough of them to matter at least, for another two to three years. At that point Morneau will be 34 and Willingham will be 36; well past their primes. Since they won't be helping the Twins for any play off baseball it makes sense to move them for whatever you can get. I also think that they will bring back some nice returns, perhaps not future #1 starters but something nice.
