Murphy: Josh Willingham's numbers goal is zero injuries
Brian Murphy at Pi Press talks about Josh Willingham's goals this offseason. Josh doesn't take the bait:
http://www.twincities.com/twins/ci_22597486/minnesota-twins-josh-willinghams-numbers-goal-is-zero"Nah, I don't know what I did for myself. I've never hit that many home runs or driven in that many runs before. A lot of that had to do with guys at the top of the order. Joe (Mauer), hitting ahead of me. He's on base all the time.
"I don't set number goals, anyway. One of the keys is to be healthy."
That sounds like a fine goal to me. Oswaldo Arcia might privately not agree.

Well that was refreshingly frank and accurate. I hope he is too, will make him a more attractive trade piece.

Well other then Nick Blackburn , i can not think of a player who doesnt want zero injuries for a season....
As for Nick im guessing he would rather not ride buses all season

Arcia will get his chance even if Willy is healthy.

In the article, Willingham gives credit to Span and Revere for getting on base ahead of him, the he says: "We'll have to get some people to step up and pick up some of that slack. There's going to be a lot of opportunity there for those guys. We'll see what happens."
I share his concern about the need for someone to step up to at least partially replace the production of Span and Revere.
