Twins ship equipment to Fort Myers

I know it's hokey and contrived, but I always look forward to the "we're sending a bunch of stuff to spring training in a big truck" story every February. Here is this year's:

Twins ship equipment to Fort Myers complex | twinsbaseball.com: News

It's not just a few things heading down to Fort Myers either, as the Twins are bringing an estimated 900-dozen baseballs, 1,500 hats, 50-dozen bats, 80-dozen pairs of socks, 400 pairs of pants and an assortment of 650 jackets.
Plenty of personal items for players and staff also are shipped down to Florida such as clothing, golf clubs and even baby cribs. There are also medical staff supplies and office items for the club's front-office staff that have to be loaded on the truck.

I hope they remembered to cut breathing holes in Butera's crate this year.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to wash "dead catcher smell" from 200 baseball gloves and uniforms?

Well, then that's on the Twins for not giving Sweet Drew his own hermetically sealed crate.

The dead catcher smell and peculiar absence of Drew Butera certainly would not lead me to ask questions or suggest any foul play. Annoying maybe, but it's a risk we should be willing to take.

Yeah, me too. It's the signal of the beginning. Am bummed that I'll only be there a week this year instead of my usual two.

They could always ship him in a wet paper bag and give him a bat. He'd never get out.
