Guardado elected to Twins HOF
Reliever Guardado elected to Twins' Hall of Fame | StarTribune.comI guess I'm happy for Eddie, but there is no way he deserves this. Knoblauch was the runner-up, so at least this clears the path for him.

I liked Eddie, but that's just ridiculous.

This isn't meant to sound morbid and he may be in excellent health. Why not induct Al Worthington and let him be alive to enjoy the honor?

Meh, file this under "who cares" the only thing I really care about are retired numbers. Eddie G was at least a very likeable player for this team for many years.

The more absurd the elections become, the more the Twins HoF becomes a joke.
At least the retired numbers still have some meaning.

Do they have to induct someone every year? Time to shelve the Twins HOF until the Hunter/Santana/Morneau/Mauer/Nathan class are available.
However it could be worse, I think the Royals included everyone on thier 1985 World Championship team individually in their team HOF.

Not a surprise since St. Peter said it was between Grant, Knoblauch and Guardado last year for the 2013 induction.
While I feel other candidates deserved this well before him, I think it is a great addition. This is the Twins Hall of Fame, and Everyday Eddie while not a legend even in the Twins history, was a great player that helped add something worth watching during some very lackluster years.
That of course depends on what you feel should be the criteria for The Twins Hall of Fame.
Also, I can't help but think that Knoblauch wont be getting an honors anytime soon due to the very negative things he has done in life since leaving baseball, maybe least of which including wanting nothing to do with his baseball past.

I always think of Game 5 against Oakland as the ultimate Everyday Eddie game. Twins get 3 in the top of the ninth and take a 4 run lead into the bottom, Eddie gives 3 of them back, Twins win.
He was likeable enough. 17 years in the majors, over $29m made. Nice career.

Can't wait until Guzman gets inducted down the line. I've missed his scowl ever since he left the team and started his non-profit organization that paves over baseball fields in the Dominican.

How long do I have to wait for Luis Rivas so we can campaign for a knife-wielding statue on the plaza?
