    Yahoo Sports: Twins Pressing Questions

Scott Pianowski of Yahoo Sports gives us an entertaining article previewing the Twins 2013 sason. He asks several questions and then answers them as best he can. Some of them might make interesting forum topics. He also points out some stats on right-handed versus left-handed power.....

Power takes a holiday in the Twin Cities, but that tax isn't distributed evenly. The lefty swingers absorb a 26-percent hit to their power numbers at Target Field, but it's just a six-percent loss for the right-handed batters. Willingham, a dead pull hitter, actually did most of his damage at home last year (.293 average, 21 homers, 1.018 OPS). He lost 63 average points and 248 OPS points on the road.

Not exactly shocking that the power drain is more dramatic for lefties, given that the RF wall, almost all the way to CF, is so much higher than it is in LF. Mauer, Morneau and Parmelee may not like it, but their buddies on the pitching staff do.

Nothing surprising about these projections here. I am planning to pay much more attention to the Twins' minor league teams than their major league one....in 2013, but here's to hoping for an influx of young talent in 2014-'16!!

That HR split at TF is no joke, and neither are Saunders' platoon splits (286/341/463 vs. RHB)

If you're going to blow 2-3 years on a guy of dubious health, why not spend the extra few bucks and get the righthander (Marcum) instead?
