I will bet a certain manager will think he battled his tail off night in and night out. I guess that will equate to something in the range of .240 to .250. I would like to see a different option but I don't think Hicks is ready yet either so I guess we are stuck with him or Benson.
Hicks is likely ready, but we won't see him till June at the earliest
I was surprised to here Seth say that Benson is a better player. I here so much about Benson being a 5 tool guy but when I saw him as a September call up in 2011, he looked completely lost, rarely put the bat on the ball and his throws were horrendous. Did he just have a really bad September in 2011? His minor league stats have been pretty awful when he hits AAA too. Seems to get sent back a level too frequently for me to think he's even a prospect anymore. True?
I don't follow the minors as much as many others here, but from what I understand Benson had been progressing very well up until last year, and the huge setback was a surprise but perhaps due to lingering injuries. So, if that is true, he may bounce back nicely this year. We shall see.Quote:
