At least the Twins didn't sign Ramon Ortiz
Say what you will about the Twins' pitcher signings this winter, but remember this, it can always be worse. The Blue Jays just signed 40-year-old pitcher Ramon Ortiz to a minor league contract. Yikes.... I apologize if mention of the name sparks any PTSD among readers....

I'd be more than happy to take Ramon Ortiz if we had the rest of their rotation also.

That is a pretty odd signing from a team whose rotation is pretty much set now. At least they got all of their prized pieces before settling for dirt.

Minor league signings don't bother me. Teams need to try to keep their AAA clubs happy and competitve too.

A bit bizarre, but maybe they are rewarding him with a chance. That team has been very impressive this offseason.

Also, Ramon Ortiz would have been nice to have instead of Marquis last year to begin the season. Say that out loud to yourself.

And the Cubs made decent use of him in 2011. 6.8 k/9 out of the bullpen in 33 1/3 innings

Apples to oranges. Comparing Ortiz to Pelfrey isn't fair. Let's compare Ortiz to Elarton.....which of those looks worse?
