    Mickey Storey

Mickey Storey is the type of pitcher that Terry Ryan should be adding for depth. He was just DFA by the Astros today.

Storey made 26 relief appearances for the Astros this past season. The 26-year-old posted a 3.86 ERA with 10.1 K/9 and 3.0 BB/9 in 30 1/3 innings at the MLB level. He also spent considerable time at Triple-A in 2012, posting a 3.05 ERA with 10.0 K/9 and 1.9 BB/9 in 65 innings.

Storey had success at the major league level. Why not take a chance and claim him.

Ryan isn't smart enough for that.

This site is seriously in need of an ignore feature. What on earth is gained by having some anonymous person sitting at their PC in the middle of nowhere slinging insults at Terry Ryan's intelligence? He makes different choices than you would as a GM, doesn't mean the man is stupid. In fact, it's very likely that Terry is much smarter than you or I are, Mr Top Gun.

I'd be worried of anyone the Astros DFA'd, especially a 26 year old who seemed somewhat successful. There has to be more to the story, as in the Astros sucked worse then the Twins so I'm not what the whole story is.

What I know of him so far is he was first DFA by Houston, claimed by the Yankees and then DFA by the Yankees to be reclaimed by Houston who had to DFA Storey to clear a spot for Carlos Pena on their 40 man roster.

I like the idea and the numbers look good. The thing is.. the Yankees claimed him the first time around which means the Twins passed on him. I don't see them changing their mind the second time around.

i believe now that the Twins have signed Pelfrey, there is no room on the 40 man

It's naver too early to DFA Correia to make room on the roster.

Edit: I guess that line's going to get played a lot.
