If Nick Punto could bring Clayton Kershaw with him to the Twins, that would be awesome.

I don't know if the future Punto is in the organization. If so, it is Escobar who has accomplished at least as much as the Punto at 23 had accomplished.

yeah, if he's bringing a nice middle infield or SS prospect over with him, I'd be fine with eating his salary... otherwise, he can stay in LA.
Is this a joke? The thought of adding another declining utility infielder is making me feel a bit ill.
In a rebuilding year, Plouffe should play every game, to see what you really have. I see no reason at all for that not to happen. A team, in this situation, that does not realize this, does not understand some pretty fundamental stuff about strategy. If you are not playing to win this year, only young players should be on the field, where you do not currently have starters.
What good would it do the Twins beyond this year to do this?

Absolutely agree. I am all in on the rebuild. Acquiring the three young arms set the direction. Signing and playing decline phase players is a detour off that path.Quote:
