This may be a long shot and most of you might not be willing to participate, but maybe we can get an answer from Terry Ryan on the Anthony Slama situation.
If all goes correctly and I receive a decent amount of signatures (TD names or real names, both work). I will send Terry Ryan an email using his email address from the MLB.com site and cut and paste everyone's name onto an email message following this statement (please critique it and respond if you have any issues with it). If he responds to my email, I will blog his response on TD. To give your signature, respond to my next thread response on this subject. Here is my opening message:
Good Day Mr. Ryan.
A lot of us Twins Fans are somewhat perplexed and a bit upset as to why Anthony Slama has not been given a fair chance to prove himself with the Twins at the Major League Level this season.
We are the fans who pay for tickets. We are the fans who buy memorabilia. We are the fans who spend hours of our day watching a ballclub that has let us down and we will probably continue to do so.
We want to know why you won’t give another opportunity to Anthony Slama, a pitcher who has done nothing but pitch dominantly at every level in the minor leagues. Yes, he was called up briefly in 2010, but that call-up did not quench the thirst of us fans.
What we are requesting is an in-depth answer as to why Slama was not a September call-up. We want to know if he has a future with this club. We want to know what you like, but mostly dislike about him – because from our viewpoint, the Twins organization does not view him as a MLB pitcher.
Mr. Ryan, we deserve to have these questions answered.
With Regards,
Your Supporters,
