    Twins officially recall Carson

As expected, the Twins make it official today announcing that they have recalled Matt Carson from Rochester to replace Denard Span.

This really doesn't have much to do with Carson, but if Span is shut down, he could be put on the 60-day list, yes? That would clear a spot for Hicks to get his feet wet.

You can't put anybody on the 60-day DL unless the 40-man roster is full. We have three vacancies (one of which could go to Hicks if the Twins so chose).

Good for Matt... Each player is a story. He would've came up with the roster expansion but an extra day in the sun is deserved. He played well and it's everything he's been working for.

Hes happy and he has family somewhere that is high fiving or something.

I've never heard that before. Regardless, there are at least two other non-roster candidates for recall (Vasquez and Slama) and it would serve the Twins well to have as many spots open anyway.
