Picture of the Week: 08-09-12
Okay, we're starting up the picture of the week again. For those of you not in the know, the way it works is this:
I post a couple of pictures. You pick a photo you like, quote me on it (so we know which photo you're referencing!) and then add your own caption. I haven't picked a cutoff deadline yet but it will be sometime next week. We'll see how it plays out.
Don't like either photo? Then go find your own and caption it. The contest isn't limited to only the photos I choose each week.
The best caption is chosen and posted on the forum main page. If you're chosen, you win my eternal gratitude (seven days of it, anyway) and nothing else.
This week's subject is our favorite punching bag, Tsuyoshi Nishioka. I shouldn't have to say this but... NO OVERTLY RACIST CAPTIONS. Keep it clean and have fun.

Twins second baseman Tsuyoshi Nishioka demonstrates two of his favorite techniques for avoiding contact with potentially injurious ground balls.

I can't take credit for this caption, but I came across it on MLB.com the other day and it cracked me up:
The Sun may be 93 million miles away, but sometimes it plays more of a role in baseball than any human on the field does. Twins second baseman Tsuyoshi Nishioka looked up on Wednesday expecting to chart the flight of Shelley Duncan's lazy pop fly into his glove, and instead found his field of view assaulted by thousands of watts of pure solar power.
After experiencing a taste of our nearest star's awesome majesty, Nishioka turned his back on the infield and seemed to contemplate humanity's smallness, idly pacing a few steps before rejoining the game.

When he gave up looking for the ball and slowly walked to the outfield - that was perhaps the most damning thing I've seen him to do prove he just can't be in MLB.

Competition for Nishi....Man is born free, but everywhere he is in chains.

I hope you'll consider coming back, we could use your battlin'. Revere is the only one with a smile that can match yours. Son of Sal says hello from under my desk. Miss you.
