Just to be a little contrary: The Twins finished 1988 at 91-71, after getting off to a horrible 4-10 start while Brunansky was on the roster - so that makes them 87-61 with Herr. No one was going to catch the A's that year, but a 95-win pace doesn't speak of a team torn apart by the trade.
Yes, I'm all over the map on Tommy Herr.

What about Joe Mauer? He makes way to much money, can't stay on the field, doesn't hit homeruns, and...
Wait a minute...
What thread am I on?

I'm not sure this topic was a good idea- it's bringing back some painful memories.

Two words: Sean Bergman.

Longevity plays a big part here, otherwise the worst player will be a Jim Hoey or Seth Greisinger type.
I would nominate Rondell White, who out up a .620 OPS as a DH.

Adam Johnson, one of the failed high draft picks that did make the majors -- B.J. Garbe, Ryan Mills and Matt Moses...happily we never saw them.

What about Clete Thomas's cameo appearance in 2012? Or does the homerun he hit in his second at-bat count against the strike-outs he compiled in his three-week stint in right?

Nishioka has got to be the worst. Herr nobody like even before he got on the field. I kind of like Davis but he did lay it in there.
