Brown: Rangers are talking to Twins about Burton
According to Yahoo!Sports' Tim Brown, the Rangers are inquiring about Twins reliever Jared Burton.
While I like the idea of keeping Burton around, particularly because he is cheap and has been very good, if you are able to turn him into a future starting position player, you have to make that deal.

I like Burton, and I think he's valuable, but if the Rangers are offering something good for him, then I say ship him out.

To flips a scrap heap minor league signing into a legit prospect would be awesome work by the Twins.

maybe the Rangers will accidentally send Mike Olt and Profar.. Burton is expendable, anything they can flip him for will be good.

Yeah, Burton's been great but he's found money. If the Rangers overpay let's do it! There's not a member of the bullpen I wouldn't move for a good deal. Talk Perkins and Burnett too.

I think there are enough relievers at AAA that thee loss of Burton wouldn't cause too much strain on the system. He has been pitching very well this year, I hope the Twins can get something good for him.

Tough to guess. The Rangers have a pretty pitching rich system and Burton's been a pretty good reliever. Maybe they could get someone in the 10-15 B-/C+ range?

Cards acquire Mujica for Zack Cox. Cox is a notable prospect and Mujica like Burton has had injuries in the past. Twins definitely should trade there relievers while the market is hot..

Let's not get too crazy on this...keep your expectations low on what we might get. He has been a solid reliever and would be a nice addition for Texas, but its not like he is going to be the primary set-up man or close games for the Rangers. I think C-C+ sounds about right to me.

Burton going to the Rangers?
According to MLBTR, the Twins and Rangers have been discussing a trade involving Jared Burton. I have to say that I don't like the sound of this, because the last time the Rangers picked up a former Twin, they got the good side of the deal (signing Nathan this offseason is what I is talking about.)
