Good News: Chuck Knoblauch is still a scumbag!

Normally I don't root for a guy to hit rock bottom, but for Chuck I think I can make an exception.

Getting drunk and hitting on girls makes you a scumbag? I wish I'd known that earlier.

I can't explain the pants, but at least he had the good sense to take public transportation. Not that he deserves a medal or anything.
Anyway, before everybody and their grandma had a blog, this kind of stuff happened with our MLB heroes all the time. We just didn't hear about it because no one had the soapbox to shout it from.

Knoublach doesn't live in NY anymore. He lives back in Texas with his family.

I'm with you on the public transportation. In fact, this article doesn't even make him sound like he's a scumbag. It just sounds like he was drunk on the subway. Honestly, this story would have been pretty funny to even if it was just some random guy. But that has more to do with the fact that he was incredibly dunk and hitting on girls while wearing chef's pants. The fact that it was supposedly Chuck Knoblauch just happens to be the only has read this story.

I read an article in the last year about Knoblauch which did indicate he lived in Texas. Maybe he was in NYC auditioning for Food Network's "Next Food Network Star" program (which would explain the pants). He then was invited out to hit some eateries, pubs, and clubs with Bobby Flay and his wife Stephanie March (of "Law and Order - Special Victims Unit" fame). Those 3 met up with Ice-T, his wife Coco, Marisa Hargitay, and Richard Belzer and proceeded to get smashed. The highlight of the night was when Chuck borrowed a lighter from a bartender to spark up cigar, when Chuck went to throw it back to the bartender, his throw sailed on him and the lighter ended up landing in a crowd of people on the other side of the bar. I guess some things never change.

You mean the wife that divorced his ass after he was arrested for beating the hell out of her?
Then a year later made a bunch of racist tweets about her?
Pretty sure he no longer lives with her and lives in and out of NY for the time being.
As someone who lives in NYC a Chuck Knoblauch sighting is hardly uncommon, and in fact he is banned from at least one bar for drug issues (to much blow) but that was 3-4 years ago.
Either way in addition to his more serious issues, the dude was a cheater (steroid/HGH user) and a jerk (with the way the Twins situation unfolded). So he certainly deserves this ridicule.Last edited by SpiritofVodkaDave; 05-21-2012 at 05:15 PM.

Actually, his DV was against his common law wife, Stacey. He's married to a different woman, Cheri, in Houston now. The tweets were hacked and were about Cheri, not Stacey. I lived in NY from 99-09 and I don't remember any Knoublach drug stories, other than the Mitchell report. Irregardless, nearly every professional athlete has done drugs, I'd bet every Viking has a much more rigid HGH/steroid program than Knobby was ever on. He was a great Twin, he played hard all the time and resented being on a team that didn't want to compete. I agree with him, those mid-late 90s Twins were an embarrassment.
Obviously, DV is a serious matter and he plead guilty to a misdemeanor.

I would kill for another player like Chuck Knoublach!!! He was one of the best 2nd basemen that has ever played for the Twins ( obviously behind Rod Carew). He was tough as nails and was not an easy out. Without him they might not have made it to the World Series in 1991.
I don't know why people waste their time running down former players who are down from the level they were when they played. Too bad he couldn't handle the pressure of playing in New York.
