I'd like to nominate Marquis to pitch the Home Run Derby.
But seriously, Willingham is the logical choice unless Diamond or Dozier continue to play extremely well.

Right now it's Willingham in the lead, and it's not even that close.
Still, a lot can happen in a month. If he cools off and Mauer gets hot, it will be Mauer. If he cools off and Mauer stays cool, Span could sneak in if he goes on a tear.
I have a hard time seeing anyone besides one of those 3, something pretty ridiculous would have to happen. (Like all 3 get hurt or Diamond pitches a bunch more scoreless outings.)

Actually, Doumit wouldn't be a bad choice. 22 RBI's & 5 HR and his average is climbing - he'd be a better choice at catcher than Mauer.

Willingham for sure. If Mauer isn't voted in, he could still play his way in (though I doubt he could be considered a catcher this year...)

I guess I was thinking the batters in the HR hitting contest get to choose who throws batting practice to them and usually go with a coach in their organization. But come to think of it, they might just pick Marquis.
Also, about Dozier, rookies often have the inside track on the final selections if there's no one substantially ahead of the pack.

It will be Matt Lawton and his messed up equilibrium. Or it could be either Willie Banks or Pat Maholmes if they get hot.
