What an interesting day in Twins Territory!

It was announced this afternoon that the Twins were awarded the 4th pick in Comp Round B of the 2015 MLB Draft. (This is fantastic news... especially for me!) Adding a pick like this will give the Twins around $800,000 extra in their draft pool.

Shortly after that, the Twins completed an Anthony Swarzak-led victory. And after that, Matt Guerrier was designated for assignment.

Of course, you can't be a Twins fan and expect all (or mostly all) good news... so Kohl Stewart was scratched from his start tonight with "a little shoulder soreness". If I had to guess, I'd say the smart money would be on shutting him down for the rest of the season, which is only a handful of starts anyway. My personal target was 100 innings for Stewart this year, which he was likely to eclipse, but those 19 innings might now be hard to come by.

Also of note: Taylor Rogers was placed on the 7-day DL today. Alex Wimmers joins the Rock Cats to take his place. Max Kepler was placed on the DL in Fort Myers and Rafael Valera comes over from the

Seth and Jeremy were back for another edition of Twins Hangouts.

Jeremy recapped his Kernels trip (and baseball-filled week) at :02. Seth and Jeremy both shared their mid-season Top 10, with lots of details (:10) and that conversation lasted 39 minutes.

At the 49-minute mark, the conversation turned into trade deadline talk before discussing Saturday's possible starting pitcher at 1:17.

So here's the deal: I spent the last 90 minutes typing up the minor league report only to have the whole thing vanish when trying to add the picture you see over there. If it was 10:30... fine, I could handle that. But it's not. It's 1:15 am and I just got worked over by my wife TWICE playing Ticket to Ride. Well, not just worked over. Worked over about three hours ago before I started to write my original piece.

So instead of getting the full version, you're going to get a slightly expanded Jeremy's Twitter-like Minor League Report.

Join Seth and me tonight for a special Wednesday edition of Twins Hangouts. We shifted away from our typical Tuesday slot because of the All-Star Game, but return at 9pm.

Expect there to be plenty of Futures Game (and nachos) talk, as well as other highlights from the weekend.

We'll preview the "second half" of the Twins season.

As most eyes of the baseball world turn their focus to the Home Run Derby on Monday night and the All-Star Game on Tuesday, a few minor league affiliates are still playing. Both AA and AAA have their All-Star Game on Wednesday night.

    Red Wings Report
The Red Wings have a three-day break before returning to the field on Thursday. Rochester already has Trevor May listed as their scheduled starter. This would put him in line to pitch again next Tuesday... or the same day as the Twins would need their #5 starter for the first time after the break. It's definitely something worth monitoring.

This morning, Ben Badler of Baseball America released an article promoting the prospect status of Tyler Duffey (subscription required). Essentially, Duffey has developed a changeup (in the 79-84 mph range) that Badler calls a "plus pitch". On Monday, Duffey threw 86 pitches and lasted 7 1/3 innings. He allowed only four hits

It's always exciting - at least for me - to get to see guys play long before they are major leaguers. Whether it's watching Brian Dozier play for the Beloit Snappers or sit in the Metrodome during a blizzard watching a Tom Windle/Sean Manaea match-up, I enjoy it. I'm no scout, but trying to project how these guys will be against the greatest baseball players in the world is an exercise I enjoy doing.

Yesterday, then, would classify as a highlight of my baseball-watching experience. No major leaguers, yet a lot of future All-Stars present.

Another Tuesday signals another episode of Twins Hangouts.

Seth and I will be live tonight at 9pm. There's been a ton of things that have happened over these last seven days. We'll certainly talk about a number of them, such as the All-Star Game, the Futures Game, Ricky Nolasco and updates on all of the minor league affiliates.

The Twins started their final road-trip before the All-Star Game on Monday in Seattle. They'll make a stop in Colorado before heading home. As was announced Sunday night, the Twins will be represented by RP Glen Perkins and C Kurt Suzuki in next Tuesday's Mid-Summer Classic.

Ricky Nolasco is heading back to the Twin Cities to get his "bit of a sore right elbow" checked out.

Today's Twins All-Star-related news revolves around two of their top pitching prospects: P Alex Meyer will be replacing P Trevor May (calf) in Sunday's Futures Game. May's "feeling good", but his return to the mound doesn't "line up with" pitching in Sunday's game. My belief - and it's 100% just my opinion - is that May still makes his Major League debut this month.

In other All-Star news, several RockCats were named to the Eastern League All-Star game, which will take place next Wednesday night: 1B Kennys Vargas, 2B Tony Thomas, OF Reynaldo Rodriguez, RP Cole Johnson, P Taylor

Shortly after the International signing period opened today at 8am, MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez tweeted that the Twins had an agreement with RHP Huascar Ynoa. Ynoa ranked 17th on MLB.com's top prospects. Baseball America placed Ynoa 14th on their list.

Ynoa is a 6-2, 190 lb righthander who just recently turned 16. Earlier in the process, there was some belief that Ynoa was the top available pitcher in this signing period.

Over a year ago, while participating in the 15U WWBA National Championship, Ynoa's fastball sat between 85-91 and Perfect Game called him "among the most impressive

Seth and Jeremy return Tuesday night at 9pm to wrap up the happenings in Twins Territory. We connected Monday night to make sure we could hear each other (we could) and to make sure that our internet was working (it was), so hopefully we have more success than last week.

The Twins have given us lots to discuss, and Seth was in Cedar Rapids for three Kernels game. Be sure to get your questions in and listen live or later!

Monday was a pretty busy day for it being just a regular Monday in late June. The Twins left Texas on Sunday knowing that both 3B Trevor Plouffe and SS Eduardo Nunez were ready to be activated from the DL, yet no move was made after last night's game. And, from the sounds of it, all 25 guys in Texas took the plane back to Minneapolis.

Monday afternoon, though, the Twins announced that, to make room for Plouffe and Nunez, SS Pedro Florimon (to Rochester) and SS Jorge Polanco (to Ft. Myers) would be optioned to the minor leagues.

The Miracle made room for Polanco by sending 2B Rafael Valera back to the GCL and also announced that LP Brett Lee would be activated with SS Aderling Mejia being placed on the DL.

Join us again tonight (Tuesday) as Seth and I discuss the last week in the Twins baseball. We'll be going live at 9pm, shortly before the Twins and Angels kick off their series.

We'll be taking questions, so please leave below. Topics you'd like us to discuss? Let us know!

Last week we went two hours and 42 minutes. This week we promise to keep it shorter and sweeter. Or will we?

The Twins have a scheduled off day before starting a series in Anaheim against the Angels.

The club is expected to make a move before tomorrow's game. The belief is they'd like to get down to 12 pitchers. While the exact moves are unknown, it should be noted that Chris Herrmann was replaced in tonight's game for no apparent reason.

    We should know more tomorrow.

The Twins opened up their annual Fenway Series on Monday night with Kevin Correia looking to defend his spot in the rotation.

Saturday's injuries to Trevor Plouffe (who went on the disabled list with a rib cage muscle injury) and Eduardo Nunez (who's day-to-day with a hamstring issue) led to Sunday's recall of Pedro Florimon. The Deduno Rotation Watch continues but, as you'll read later, we can eliminate one possibility.

If you haven't noticed, it's Tuesday again. This week's Hangout had been listed as day-to-day which, in TwinsSpeak, could mean a day, a week, or possibly that we'd never do another Hangout again. You just. Don't. Know.

But we're trying to give the term day-to-day a new meaning and that starts now: We're back. With no missed time. We've dealt with some not so great circumstances the last couple of weeks. Namely, key contributors (our computers) crapping the bed. But fear now. The Hangout lives on.

So tonight, what are we going to talk about? We're going to cover the two biggest things to happen
