J.D. Martinez anyone? The right handed leftfielder just got released by the Astros. Had 7 homeruns last year in not many at bats. 11 homeruns and 55 rbi two years ago. Also lots of doubles. Maybe he can play center as well so we carry him as our 4th outfielder.

Wasn't he drafted by the Twins. Seems to be a logical pickup then.

As a rule of thumb, the twins shouldn't be digging through the trash piles of the few teams that are worse than them.

Career .251/.300/.387 line. Sounds like the second coming of Clete Thomas (career .233/.311/.353 line)

Forgot to mention he hit .240 as well. OPS below .700.

Sounds like a difference maker!

I didn't realize he wasn't even on Houston's 40 man anymore.

Where is Clete at these days? He got a ton of at bats with the Twins last year.

IIRC he signed a MiLB contract with the Phillies. So he will likely play for my hometown team (IronPigs)

If he played CF I'd feel differently, but instead he is a corner outfielder with perhaps below-par defense. Even if his bat were to come around, I don't see him filling an unmet need for the Twins, nor would that kind of a profile become a valuable trading chip by investing a 25-man slot in him. I pass.

I was asked same question on Twitter.

The only hole he'd help fill is adding a RH bench bat. But he doesn't offer much of anything Colabello doesn't already. He'd need to be serviceable enough in CF to be a 4th OF. He's not.

That is the only team that is worse than them.
