He tweeted this a bit ago. I tried to look for announcements and listening to Ft. Myers pregame show with no news.
I know that his start this season has not been that great but it is a long season. Just hope all is good for him

hmmm... no idea, but if i had to guess he may have gotten placed on the 7 day DL. (hopefully its a similar stint or very short absence). Go Tony Davis - probably one of the better LH relief prospects in the system.
Top Twins prospects ? 1.Byron Buxton (OF-A+)
2.Miguel Sano (3B-AA) 3.Alex Meyer (SP-AA) 4. Kohl Stewart (SP-RK) 5. Nick Gordon (SS-RK) 6. J.O. Berrios (P-A) 7. Josmil Pinto (C-AAA) 8. Eddie Rosario (2B-AA) 9. L. Thorpe (SP-RK) 10. Travis Harrison (3B-A) 11.Kennys Vargas (1B-A+) 12. Trevor May (SP-AA) 13. Jorge Polanco (2B-A) 14. Max Kepler (OF-A) 15. Miguel Sulbaran (SP-A) Just Missed:P Zach Jones, SS Aderlin Mejia, P Stephen Gonsalves, C Stuart Turner.

They announced this morning that the Twins have released Tony Davis. Tony posted a series of 4 tweets this morning about it as well. I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed by this one. He's a left-hander who touched 95 with a fastball prior to his surgery last year. he was still working his way back this spring. He's only pitched in 5 games so far this spring and he has admittedly struggled to a 15 ERA. But if he is left-handed, throws hard and is coming off of surgery, why not DL him again. he's not a big guy, can't cost all that much. Then let him try again in a month or so. Then again, I'm biased. I've talked to Tony several times. I had the opportunity to meet him down in Ft. Myers last spring training. he's as nice and as classy as it gets. I certainly wish him the best with whatever is next in his career.

That's too bad... He has been a class guy with the organization since day one and was pretty good last season with the Rock Cats. This organization frustrates me sometimes. They do sign nonprospects and clog the system and get rid of some of their own prospects because they are having hick ups... Add Tony Davis to Dan Osterbrock and Pedro Guerra on the list of boneheaded releases this season. Wishing the best to Tony.

Yes... very expected. Here is what I wrote about him 3 years ago...

I just don't get the idiocy of the Twins MiLB evaluators sometimes....

I've seen him in Beloit the last few years, I was surprised as well when he got cut.
