Who do you like the most filling in for Bert?

I'm getting a little concerned about Bert.

But of those three, I really enjoy TK but not every day.
Oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay,
I sleep all night and I work all day.

TK, and it's not even close. Why does Bert get so much time off?

He's 63 and already in the Hall of Fame.

None of the above???

I like TK for the limited number of games he does each season. I wouldn't really want him for more (and I don't think he wants to do more).

Smalley and Morris don't really impress me but then, I'm tired of the Dick and Bert show, too.

I think they need to rotate Provus over to TV play-by-play more often and send Bremer over to the radio more.

Change it up for everybody. (And I don't think they've found Bert's permanent replacement yet).

Both Smalley and Morris are way too full of themselves (as are Gladden and Blyleven btw.) TK is better, but he gets pretty monotonous after a while. The need some fresh blood and different perspective methinks (as if there was a part of these Twins that cannot benefit from freshness...)

Out of those 3, Morris. TK is the most knowledgeable out of the group, but he puts me to sleep. Smalley is a distant 3rd.

I always watch the opponent's announcers. Is Bert fired? Vacation? Retiring?

TK for me... He breaks down moments better than all of them combined. He just doesn't fly out of his chair while doing it so he may not play in Peoria.

But yeah... For me... Focus groups be damned... Give me TK.
A Skeleton walks into a bar and says... "Give me a beer... And a mop".

Crapforks, how do you watch the opponents announcers? I thought they were blocked out in Minnesota.

I live out of state and sprung for mlb.tv. My (Hawaii) blackouts are every single west coast game: LAA, LAD, OAK, SD, SF, SEA. Side note: if you are a free game of the day subscriber, you will eventually get a 50% off offer to the e-mail address you used to subscribe. FWIW.

Morris by far but tk has gotten much better this year. Smalley is awful. I would also like to hear Dick on the radio every once and a while, when he did spring training games a few years ago it was absolutely wonderful. So glad Ron Commer is gone, Gladden needs to follow him out the door, Smalley too.

I was amazed at how far Coomer had come, although I'm not sure how he'd work out on a day-to-day basis. Analysis gets set in their ways. Kelly and someone else alternating would be best. Laudner is developing some skills and is more suited to not being seen (compared to Smalley of the Great Hair).

I picture that the Hall of Fame has placed more money-making opportunities on Blyleven to enjoy, signings, tournaments, appearances and such (and he donates money to a good cause, too).

Totally off the subject, kind of, but can't help myself.

I always enjoyed Larkin, not an option listed here.

Personally, I really enjoy Dazzle!

I miss Gordon. I don't care if he blew a call or name here or there, he was good and fun as well as enthusiastic.

I grew up with Herb Carneal. There will never be another, God rest his soul. I still miss him. (Hat held over heart)

No way would I want to listen to TKs monotone for an entire season. I love TK and he definitely has some good things to say, but he puts me to sleep.

Carneal and Gordon were the best ever. As far as the three mentioned, Morris easily. If he's full of himself, he has a right to be.

Seriously? He never tells you what's actually going on during the play. He's worse than Lonny from major league two.

Tom Kelly is OK to listen to about once a week.

I like Roy Smalley. He talks a little bit too much, but I enjoy his analysis.

I don't think Blyleven has said anything new for a long time. Not much analysis. Reads the player bios.

Tim Laudner is just horrific. I just have to turn the channel when he's on the pre or post game shows. I just can't listen.

I don't mind Jack Morris either. He isn't as cliched as Blyleven.

My rankings:

Smalley, Morris, Kelly, Blyleven, Laudner.

Well, just remember, Hawk exists to make all other play-by-play analysts sound good. With Gubicza running a close second.

Blyleven has his faults, but he is not the complete homer other analysts are. Same with Morris and TK.

In fact, I get a kick out of Blyleven some times, because you can tell, after a pitch by a Twins pitcher has gone a long way, Bert is almost saying "WTF kind of pitch was that?"

I really wouldn't mind Morris taking over for Bert with TK in the booth once and a while. Although, the current rotation is fun. I like the variety of color announcers we've had over the last couple of years.

Morris is pretty good on the radio, TK is OK but at limited doses.

Kris Atteberry is who should be given the chance.

Maybe Paul Allen and Patrick Reusse. It would not put you to sleep. You may want to gnaw your own leg off to break free, but you'll be awake while doing it.

I would rank them: Morris/Blyleven, TK, Smalley, Laudner. I like the humor and borderline inappropriateness of Blyleven and I like Morris. His stories haven't gotten old yet and they are refreshing.

Smalley would be pretty good if he didn't pick one thing and repeat it over and over but in five different ways. By the time he has finished with his fifth attempt the comment is no longer relevant.

I just can't believe we had Jim Kaat at one point. I love the mlbn games where he is in the booth.

TK is the man. I don't care how monotonous he is. He's a good analyst.

Smalley is actually not that bad, in my opinion. He's a sharp guy.

I could do without anyone else, including Dick and Bert. Please retire soon, guys.

Dick said something especially annoying yesterday: "I usually hate saying someone pitched better than their numbers...". Sure, unless it supports your stupid argument.

Vacation. Bert is back on June 19th

You've got all off-season to rest up, Meat. Get back in there.

:)

Oh, and I vote for TK too. The monotony doesn't get to me, but I don't watch every game either.
