A couple days ago I realized that the Rochester Red Wings were playing the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs in my back yard this weekend. Their ballpark (Coca Cola Park) is less than half an hour away from my door, so I make it a point to go see the Red Wings every year when they play there.

This was their second game here and by choice I went today instead of yesterday because Kyle Gibson was pitching. There were a lot of conflicting reports about him and I wanted to see with my own eyes how he is doing. ...

One Minnesota Twins' affiliate won 4-3, in 12 innings. Another lost 4-3 on an unearned run in the 9^th inning. The Twins' top minor league pitcher this season was back on the mound and didn’t disappoint. Chris Colabello and Andrew Albers are two players who came to the Twins organization via the Can-Am League. They both have pretty impressive streaks with the Red Wings right now. So much happened in the Twins farm system on Friday that I haven't even mentioned Miguel Sano hitting another ball a long way!

Welcome back! In my never-ending quest to recap old drafts (feature ends June 4), I present to you, 1993, in all it's glory:

The 1992 draft was a nightmare, but the 1993 draft was like the morning after a nightmare when you realize that none of what you experienced was real and that you are safe in your own bed, but then ohhhh there's blood on your pillow but wait it's just that your tooth fell out because you haven't been to the dentist in years and everything's fine except the tooth. ...

The Twins starting pitching looked to be a problem going into the season and after several weeks of surprisingly good performances by several members of the rotation, we're starting to see regression by several key pitchers as the team ERA begins to bloat.

Thankfully, the Twins had an off day to regroup after being shelled by the White Sox and losing two of three at Target Field earlier in the week.

Gibsonites. I like it. And it’s a label I’ll proudly wear because, from my view, it seems obvious that Gibson should be on the major-league roster by now.
