former twin watch

Rate this Entry
It is always fun to check in with how our former players are performing. It seems like ex twins are found in bunches.
Rockies have Cuddy back after being down with injury and is seeing ball well. Hawkins looks gassed after great start as tgeir closer and of course Mourneau is tearing the ball and not just at home. With Milwaukee Gomez is off pace from torrid stretch last year but still putting up numbers to envy any of our of production. Both Lohse and Garza have helped propel the crew to their fast start. Too early to tell but Nolasco<Lohse so far for money. In Boston AJ being Twins 1st or second C choice vs. Suzuki has been a bright spot. Ortiz continues to be big papi especially against us it seems. And for some reason Breslow is still used situationally out of their pen. On to Baltimore where JJ is still JJ. Delmon gid bless him is still hacking and is Alexi gone completely? Detroits Nathan while not elite anymore is still getting it done. Tori is down but not out. Philly is frustrated with Revere for being who he is and after a solid spring (which as we know means little) someone thought Manship could work into a 5 spot. So far not so much. In DC Ramis is finally back after his latest setback and made a great diving catch the other day and after going 5/5 one day, the next day Span homered. Punto is playing his role in oakland (man his post twins tour has been with some really fine teams). And Butera continues to show he should pull a reverse ankiel and become a pitcher. Let's not forget the fact that Slowey has ironically recently been working out of the bullpen for Redmond and the Cards have thus far hit on gold with Neshek rebounding big time with INCREASED velo. Rays and Astros have gotten little to nothing from Balfour and Crain. Tonight witness Scott Baker and Liam Hendricks start for Texas and Toronto respectively.Liriano has gone from hero to goat in Pittsburgh. I'm sure I missed some and while I know the reasons each of these players left, what we got in return, I will always wish these guys well. I am especially happy for Justin and Neshek. Keep it up boys ( except when we play you)

Thanks for this update. Some I miss, some I don't, but all used to be Twins. I wish every one of them well, especially the three classy ex-Twins playing for the Rockies. Did any of you read the recent article about LaTroy Hawkins? Great article about LaTroy, a really nice person, who happens to be a baseball player. One last thing... I don't want Big Poopi to whoop the Twins anymore.
