2012 Day-by-Day - May 29 & 30

Rate this Entry
Due to the length of last night's game, I did not get home until past midnight and was unable to do the day-by-day, so here is the 2 day edition

Hitter of the Day(s):
Chris Parmelee - 1B - ROC - AAA (Last 2 Days): 5-7 2 HR (3), 2B (2), 7 RBI, 4 R, 2 BB

Pitcher of the Day:
Francisco Liriano: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 9 SO. After an underwhelming performance in the bullpen, Liriano shocks everyone and puts up a 2010-esque game with some dominant stuff. Was it a flash in the pan? Was it the poor Oakland hitting? Is he back? I will need 2-4 more performances similar to this to make the exclamation, but for tonight, it's fun to dream on.

The team sweeps Oakland at home, somehow still remains within 10.5 games of 1st place and now goes on to play a struggling Cleveland team, an improved Kansas City team. After the road trip the team comes home for the 2nd round of interleague play against Chicago, Philadelphia, Milwaukee. The next 15 games are against some struggling teams. I'm not here to declare the Twins can still compete for AL Central, but go 10-5 in these next 15 games, and you will have my attention. Regardless, fun to see the team play some good all around baseball and sweep a home series.
