  1. Ben Revere: Placeholder??

    If Ben Revere's legacy with the Twins is as a speedy outfielder who
    was a placeholder until better players developed, that's just fine

    Original post from North Dakota Twins Fan
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    After pulling out a victory in a 15-inning affair on Sunday afternoon and into Sunday evening, the Twins got a much needed day of rest yesterday before traveling to Pittsburgh. The Twins will play the Pirates and the Reds to complete their interleague schedule before returning home and getting back into American League action. Both of these teams have been playing well in the last couple weeks so it will be interesting to see ...
  3. Monday in the Minors
    The Twins had another off day on Monday, following the long Father’s Day afternoon at Target Field on Sunday. On Monday afternoon, the team flew to Pittsburgh where they will play three inter-league games against the Pirates before heading to Cincinnati for three games against the Reds.
    In the minor leagues, Monday was the first game for the GCL Twins and Tuesday will be the first game for Elizabethton. The Florida State League returned to action on Monday following its All Star break. ...
    I love the Twins Daily Site. It presents to me a lot of insight, angles and intelligence.
    I love the metrics also, and I understand it is a sabermetric dominated site - but in a way, I find the Twins Daily site a dominated platform for "Metrics" individuals and it can become quite stifling for some.
    There is seemingly a small amount who play it by the vest and display their emotional quotient, but they are on this site hoping for their chance to have a voice... ...
    Hello Twins fans, How about that game yesterday! It took 15 innings, but the Twins got it done thanks to a base hit by Denard Span that scored Brian Dozier. There were plenty of mistakes for the Twins at the plate. The most glaring is Ryan Doumit grounding out with the bases loaded to end the bottom of the Twelfth. Part of it ...
  6. 2012 Day-by-Day - June 18
    by , 06-18-2012 at 10:42 PM
    Not a very active (or successful) night tonight. Ft. Myers is coming back from their All-Star break, while Beloit heads into theirs. New Britain has an off night, but GCL Twins debuted tonight, sans Byron Buxton and the Elizbethton Twins start tomorrow. Thus I have added 2 new pages and they new tabs can be seen on the bottom of the page.
    My thoughts on Ben Revere
    How much fun has Benny been to watch lately? The plays in the outfield, the improved hitting, the smiling, the adorableness, the little chicken wing thing he does in the batting box, the plays in the outfield ... ...
  8. Twins Must Decide When, Not If, Glen Perkins & Jared Burton Are Available
    by , 06-18-2012 at 07:47 PM (TwinsGeek.com)
    Some spring training moves are bearing fruit. The question is when they will be most ripe?
    Glen Perkins hasn't been especially effective this year, but he still profiles as possible closer long term, with well over a strikeout per inning. Even better, this spring he signed a deal that keeps his salary team-controlled through 2016 at a level considerably below that of a closer.
    So how should the Twins play that? On the one hand, they could trade him now to ...
    Zumaya injured already!?-img_0649.jpg
    I attended yesterday's game where the Twins beat the Brewers 5-4 in 15 innings, and it reminded me of another Interleague game I saw in 2004. On June 10, 2004, the Twins topped the Mets 3-2 in 15 innings at the Metrodome. Mike Ryan knocked in Luis Rivas with the winning run with a 1-out single off losing pitcher Ricky Bottalico.
    Grant Balfour pitched 1.2 innings in relief to get the win. Starter Kyle Lohse went 7 innings allowing 5 hits, ...
  12. 2012 Gulf Coast League Twins Season Preview
    by , 06-18-2012 at 10:25 AM (SethSpeaks.net)
    Today is the day, and a lot of Twins prospects are pretty excited about their first Opening Day today. The GCL Twins will begin play on Monday at noon (eastern time). Ramon Borrego will manage the team for the third straight year. Former Twins minor leaguer Henry Bonilla will take over pitching coach duties. Milt Cuyler is back for his tenth season with the GCL Twins as hitting (…and outfield, base running and more) coach.
    Here is a look at the 2012 GCL Twins roster as the season starts. ...
    The trading deadline is on the horizon, the time to buy or sell is near. Rumors are emerging from the mystical land of unnamed sources, mostly revolving around Justin Morneau and the Toronto Blue Jays, and they will only grow louder as the days pass by. It’s rather clear that the Twins will be sellers come July 31st but instead of focusing on the soon to be AAA Twins,
    Aaron and special guest co-hosts Parker Hageman and Joe Nelson talk about Trevor Plouffe's power explosion, Liam Hendriks' long-ball troubles, whether or not the Twins should be looking to trade Denard Span, Josh Willingham, Justin Morneau, and other veterans, why a filthy Twitter is a good thing, the development of power pitchers, and a phone call from a vacationing John Bonnes.
