I've noticed that video issue at times.
(I was hoping to embed the spectacle that was Turandot, but MNOP is as stingy with embeddable video as MLB...I do hope that TVoR and CCP enjoyed it as much as my wife and I did...even if there was a notable lack of highlight reel defense)
Great report. I think this is why I love pro baseball (and this site): there is so much more action and so many more stories with the minor leagues added in.
Are pitchers starting to pitch around Buxton?
Guillen's comments on illegal aliens as workaholics might fit too, for those who spend too much time in front of a computer screen, blogging about baseball: "There are a lot of people from this country who are lazy. We're not. Prove me wrong. A lot of people in this country want to be on the computer and send e-mails to people. We do the hard work. We're the ones who go out and work in the sun to make this country better."
Wish my MLB app could pick up games from the past.
I'd settle for being able do download radio calls of games that have been played.
This quote from Ozzie should close the discussion. "I love USAFChief. I respect USAFChief. You know why? A lot of people have wanted to kill USAFChief for the last 60 years, but that S.O.B. is still here."
Pelfrey and Deduno aren't quite interchangeable, since the latter is not on the 40-man roster. Someone (probably not Pelf) would need to be dropped if Deduno is added. That makes them related but separate issues.
My guess is he is going to have 1 more shot, I think his best option his to go to AAA and find out how to get the ball past the hitter, he will ultimately be better, 11 months returning is just too quick. The twins are going to have to give deduno a chance thus season, this would b the perfect time. Having pelfrey out there now just reminds me too much of what happened last year, whew we as fans were just hoping to get through 4 innings.
It is hard to question what gardy does on the field in comparison to other mgrs, I m not sure what that looks like in the clubhouse, but I go back and forth with how ibwould feel w/ gardy out. If we were to get a more aggressive manager like a Larussa or maddon type of guy, I would be in. I love Paul molitor, just not sure what he brings as a manager. If gardy can somehow have a competitive team this year I don't see the point in letting him go.
No idea whether BBF is the source for that hideously ugly photoshoop or if they just stole it fair and square like I did.
kinda like ;Bastard Boy Floyd' one
Pelf is entitled to refuse a AAA assignment, though he does have an option remaining if he does choose to accept. It is probably too far-fetched to believe that Gardy left him in to face Fielder so that if the worst happened Pelf would maybe be persuaded to accept the demotion, but that thought still crosses my mind.
I agree with john.
I agree with you 100%.
It is crazy.
Play Escobar, Carroll, Dozier and Florimon. Let Plouffe ride the pine. Call it "Pirhanas II: It's Not Safe to Go Back in the Water--or overlook the bottom of the batting order."
Any insight on Polanco? Why 2B? Didn't he have a good reputation as a SS? Has he outgrown the position? Have they already decided he doesn't have the arm?
I am concerned because it is rare for a Low A ball second baseman to progress to the majors. Romero's case might be a little different as the Twins move him the other way on the defensive spectrum.
If the Twins project him as a major league utility player or starting middle infielder, he needs to be getting significant time at SS. At 19, he is too young to be exclusively a 2B.
I know the Twins have Goodrum, Michael and Santana in front of him. Perhaps the hope was all three will take a step up during the year opening the spot in Cedar Rapids. Perhaps he is a poor defender and no longer seen as a major league middle infielder.
Thanks. Some players seem to attract many negative anagrams - Florimon as you noted seemed to result in nothing but bad ones, and Tyler Robertson likewise had more than a fair share. Is there a correlation to on-field talent? Not on purpose, but maybe it's fate. Doesn't bode well for Brian Duensing, in that case. The uncensored version is at:
I welcome any additions someone comes up with.
Gave him his present on Thursday and Friday. Took it back on Saturday and Sunday.
These are bizarre and wonderful. I missed them the first time around; my favorites between both lists are:
Pedro Florimon: Implode For Ron
Darin Mastroianni: Indiana Rainstorm
Pedro Hernandez: End Red Porn Haze
Fun stuff. Thank you ashburyjohn.
