I had the field condition in mind, which I would think would be kind of a bummer to come home to. Also, I don't know how completely a home team clears out its locker room when going on a road trip, but knowing another team will be moving in as you vacate seems like a downer too. I'm not saying they shouldn't be professional about it; just that it must seem like a weight was lifted for the guys who were returning to the team this season.

I think Arcia has a pretty good arm, nothing earth shattering though. I'd be leaning more towards boneheaded plays in this instance, however the ability to throw guys out is definitely there.

The Wings are no longer sharing their ballpark with Scranton. I think that had to be kind of a negative last year.

Arcia can hit, he's got a hell of a swing. But, and you don't hear about this much, he must have a hell of an arm. Three assists already. All at second base. Or, is he getting assists from bone-headed runners at 2B? Either way, I've seen his arm ranked as average, but in the box score, it looks like more than that. What's the skinny?

Being a guy who has been in Rochester the past three seasons, the fans are definitely supportive of the team whether they win or lose. Unfortunately there has been a lot more losing then winning over that time, but I think this year will be different. Gene Glynn is a good manager, really seems to know how to motivate the team. He also has full support of the front office, which I think is a big help. I'm excited for opening day, and looking forward to seeing a lot of great baseball at Frontier Field in 2013.... and you're right about the price & experience, you can't beat it.

"We could have 5 guys with Major League experience pitching here on Opening Day". I'm liking that quite bit. We Rochester Red Wing fans have long understood that our town is a place for young ball players to develop and winning comes after that. But we love rooting for a winning team as much as anyone. So having a terrific pitching staff is 75% of the battle won. You folks in Minnesota should know, though, win or lose, baseball games at Frontier Field in Rochester NY are always fun and affordable and we appreciate the fine work of the Red Wings front office!
