  1. Twins Minor League Report (7/14): Future Watch

The Minnesota Twins and the Rochester Red Wings have now begun their All Star breaks. Andrew Albers and Chris Colabello will be representing the Red Wings at the AAA game. The Twins showed again that if you can get to AAA, you can get a shot to play with the Twins. On Sunday, three Twins players were sent back to Rochester while two Red Wings were promoted to the Twins. Chris Herrmann and veteran Doug Bernier will be with the Twins along with a Player to be Named Later (likely Colabello on Friday). ...
  2. Trade Talk: Los Angeles Dodgers

Trade Deadline Overview: Los Angeles Dodgers

    Buyers or Sellers

Buyers. Following an indifferent start and (Yasiel Puig notwithstanding) an uninspiring May and early June, the Dodgers found themselves 9.5 games out of first on June 22, a season low 12 games below .500. Since then they have ripped off a 17-4 run, cutting the Diamondbacks lead to 2.5 games and reestablishing themselves in the soft NL West race. While still below .500, the Dodgers were built in the ...
  3. All Star Roster Shuffle

Following the Minnesota Twins impressive series win in New York against the Yankees, GM Terry Ryan shuffled the roster. Down to Rochester will be outfielders Oswaldo Arcia and Chris Parmelee, and infielder Eduardo Escobar. The Twins then promoted infielder Doug Bernier and catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann.

This means that there is one more player to be added to the 25 man roster. I believe it can be assumed that player will be 1B/OF Chris Colabello. The MLB and AAA All Star breaks ...

The Twins Were Sharknados First (Twins 0 Yankees 2 - Game 89)

A SyFy televion movie called Sharknado took over the world of Twitter, and Iíll bet most Twins fans didnít put up too much of a struggle.

Sharknado is a movie whose title tells you exactly what youíre going to see on your TV. The Internet Movie Database estimates it cost about a million to make. Iíll bet no one over the age of eight expected any quality from it, and yet it stole the worldís heart for a moment ...

  6. Twins Birthdays--July 14

    Danny Walton (1947)
    Vic Rodriguez (1961)

This is also the birthday (1924) of Ralph Rowe, who was a Twins coach from 1972-1975.

Outfielder Daniel James Walton played for the Twins in 1973 and 1975. He was born in Los Angeles, went to high school in La Puente, California, and was drafted by Houston in the tenth round in 1965. He hit very well in the minors, hitting over .300 with 45 homers combined in 1966-1967. ...
