  1. Miracle Website

What is wrong with the website this year? Not 1 Photo or Video this season. No interviews. There is not a single video highlight of any play this season in Fort Myers. It is as though the season may have never existed to this point. The surprising part is no one seems to care but me.

Who are these prospects and what do they look like? CR Kernels post 100's of photos from each game on there Facebook page. Who is in charge of exposure for the club? Maybe if people knew what the ...

  3. Summary For Troy's Twins Chat For June 2, 2014

Hello Twins fans. Here's what dad and I discussed on tonight's Twins show. We discussed tonight's 6-2 loss to the Brewers. We also discussed how the Twins Brewers series doesn't really seem to be much like a rivalry anymore. We ended the show by talking about some of the headlines in the Major Leagues.

  4. Let's Guess the Twins Minor League All Stars

With the minor league all star games approaching - Whom do you see making their respective League All Star Games? Several non top prospects are having excellent seasons.

  5. Twins Draft Preview: Alex Jackson

As fans have endured three straight 90-plus loss seasons, its been obvious that one of and probably the biggest roots of the problem is the lack of quality starters. Essentially, the Twins have employed a collection of #4 starters and have failed to draft or sign frontline starters. We saw the late 2012 trades to acquire Alex Meyer and Trevor May followed by the drafting of Texas prep hurler Kohl Stewart as signs that the Twins recognized this issue and have started to correct it.

  6. Twins Minor League Report (6/2): Thorpe, Romero and a bunch of losses

The Twins and Brewers started a four-game home-and-home set Monday night. Between this series and the upcoming draft, there should be plenty of newsworthy topics.

But the newsiest news dropped after the Kernels game when Jake Mauer informed the media that Ps Derrick Penilla and Felix Jorge were being sent back to extended spring training. He couldn't confirm who would be taking their places, but floated Ps Lewis Thorpe and Fernando Romero as possibilities.

It's been a busy couple weeks in New Britain. I'll start out with a little breaking news. Late this afternoon, the Hartford Courant placed a story on its front page suggesting that the Rock Cats' owners may be moving the team to Hartford in 2016 (it's only about 10 miles away, but would be significant for many local reasons I won't get into now). Journalism is funny in the Internet age. The original title of the piece was "Rock Cats Close to Deal to Move to

ID:	7637So, as you might have heard, Twins pitching prospect Trevor May has been on a heck of a run in Triple-A. The 25-year-old right-hander was named International League Pitcher of the Week on Monday and hasn't allowed an earned run in his last four starts.

Overall, May is sitting with a 2.62 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 10 starts this year, while averaging about a strikeout per inning and holding opponents to a .196 batting average.

That sounds like a guy ...
  9. Interview with Twins GM Terry Ryan - Part 1

During a routine physical exam early this year, Minnesota Twins General Manager Terry Ryan asked his doctor to take a look at a lump on his neck. Testing found Ryan to have squamous cell carcinoma.

Ryan had surgery in February and has undergone radiation treatment as well. In the meantime, Assistant General Manager Rob Antony has filled in as the interim GM for the Twins, though Ryan has been in regular contact with Antony and others in the Twins front office.

Winning a series in New York is becoming old hat. The Twins took two of three from the Yankees in Yankee Stadium for the second year in a row. They exploded for six runs in the top of the ninth, with most of the damage being done off of the generally dominant David Robertson. Phil Hughes won his sixth game and pitched extremely well in his return to Yankee Stadium. In fact, all three starters pitched well this ...
  11. Twins Draft Preview: Carlos Rodon

With the Houston Astros having the number one overall pick for the third year in a row, there can be some question about who will be selected first overall. Two years ago it looked like Mark Appel would be a lock for the first pick. The Astros saved a little money by taking Carlos Correa and this looks like a great decision. Correa is blossoming into one of the best position players in the minors and Appel ended up in an Astros uniform in last year's draft.

Will Houston go with an ...
  12. Twins Draft Preview: Nick Gordon

Arguably, it's been quite a long time since the Twins have employed a franchise type player at the most important position on the diamond, shortstop (I'll leave J.J. Hardy out of this conversation). Since 2004 when Christian Guzman last manned the position, the Twins have sent players such as Jason Castro, Jason Bartlett, Nick Punto, Matt Tolbert, Adam Everett, Orlando Cabrera, Alexi Casilla, Trevor Plouffe, Brian Dozier, Pedro Florimon, and Eduardo Escobar out there for extended playing time, ...

  13. 10-round Twins Mock

People love mock drafts. I think, mostly, so that you can mock the people that put some guesses down on paper for the world to scrutinize. I'm not above that.

I regret not putting one together two years ago. Somewhere, on a message board on this site, I predicted that the Twins take Adam Brett Walker (though I had the round incorrect). Last year, I noted how much I liked Brian Navaretto, who the Twins also drafted. I was a big fan of Stephen Gonsalves (though ...
