One of the benefits of being a bad team for multiple seasons is the fact the Twins have been able to replenish some of their farm system with high draft picks the last two years. Add these players into a group that already included some top-notch talent, and the future of the Twins organization continues to look bright.
Throughout the offseason there will be plenty of prospect lists released by a variety of media outlets. There are always differences between how people view the particular
It's been just four days since the Red Wings lost game five of their playoff series against the Pawtucket Red Sox, 3-0. Immediately after the game the Minnesota Twins selected contracts of seven Rochester players, which started me thinking about what the Red Wings could look like in 2014.
While there will be free agent signings, trades will take place, it will be interesting to see exactly what the Rochester Red Wings are going to look like next season, and see if theyíll be able to

Last week, the Twins announced the seven players that will represent the organization in the Arizona Fall League this year. Itís been a busy month for this guy (hence the first blog post in three weeks), but with the end of the minor league seasons upon us, I thought it would be as good a time as any to weigh in on those seven selections.
Notably, this group of Twins prospects is as talented as any team could have sent. As noted by Baseball

I know the picture doesn't fit, but for what might be the last time, let's give #33 another cover photo. This from a happier time.
Let's hope there is more champagne in Morneau's near future... and also that none of the corks hit him in the head.
If you want to weigh in on the trade and it's reactions. Go here.
Tonight was a very significant night for the Rochester Red Wings. It's also a big night for Josmil Pinto,
The Twins were off today. In other baseball news, it was announced that Matt Harvey of the Mets has a partially torn UCL. He's getting the dreaded "rest and recovery" treatment many Twins fans are too familiar with. It's an unfortunate development for one of the best young arms in the game today.
Eddie Rosario was named Eastern League Player of the Week after his stellar week last week.
There was also a nice write-up about a few Twins prospects on Baseball America as well
It's been a consistently inconsistent season for Trevor May
Tonight's game was a laugher. No real offense to speak of for New Britain until the game was well out of hand. In fact, it's not even worth discussing Sano or
There were a few minor league moves to take place on Thursday. Outfielder Darin Mastroianni was due to come off the disabled list but he was in the middle of a hitting slump so he was optioned to Rochester. There might be a chance that he gets back to the big leagues this year but he had options left and it would be better for him to get his legs under him.
Outfielder Aaron Hicks has been dealing with a nagging injury. Rochester put him on the 7-day disabled list with a right heel

Marlin fishing can be an adventure.
These beasts of the ocean can weight upwards of 1,000 pounds and it can take quite the fight to get them into a boat. Fishing for these animals can take a lot of time and patience. It also takes the right tools and skills to reel in one of these giant fish.
Over the weekend, a story came out in the Boston Globe that discussed the possibility

Happy Trade Deadline Eve! All is still quiet on the Twins front, though activity around baseball has started to heat up. Division rivals Detroit and Chicago have already been active (with Bostonís help). Detroit added SS Jose Iglesias to replace Jhonny Peralta (who will be suspended soon) while Chicago traded Jake Peavy to the Red Sox. The White Sox get in return OF prospect Avisail Garcia (from Detroit - who might rank as their new #1 prospect) as well as other minor-league prospects.
The non-waiver trade deadline is closing in quickly and it is still tough to know what the Twins will do in the coming hours. Is Justin Morneau's Twins career over? Will Glen Perkins still be the guy at the back end of the bullpen? Can the Twins afford to part with Kevin Correia or Mike Pelfrey? There could be a lot of deals in the next couple days or there could be nothing but the sounds of crickets.
During the offseason, the Twins made a lot of noise by dealing two of their starting

There were post-game fireworks at Target Field on a beautiful night for baseball. Let's take a look at what happened around the club's affiliates.
ROCHESTER RED WINGS 1, SYRACUSE CHIEFS 7
The first of a few action-free games from the Twins perspective.
Offensively, Oswaldo Arcia returned to AAA and homered. He also walked once and struck out once. Jeff Clement and Drew Butera both doubled.
Liam Hendriks pitched 5.1 innings.
The New Britain Rock Cats didn't have a game on Wednesday evening but multiple players from their team were taking part in the Eastern League All-Star Game. New Britain was also the host city for the event and there were plenty of ESPN personalities at the event since it is so close to the headquarters of the four letter network.
Danny Santana started the game at shortstop and was the lead-off hitter for the Eastern Divison. He went 0-for-2 with a strikeout. Josmil Pinto was the only
Windy skies tonight in New Britain
This is a night where I'm glad I'm not a real journalist with a real deadline. Wow, what a game. Well, more specifically, what a game for Miguel Sano: 3-for-4, 2 HR, 5 RBIs. And the
With all of the hype and excitement surrounding the Kyle Gibson promotion to the majors, the Minnesota Twins behind closed doors are likely pondering a much more complicated question: who is going to get the axe to make room for Gibson long-term? Twinsí General Manager Terry Ryan stated that once he called up Gibsonóbaring some historically awful performancesóit would likely be for good, which means that someone is going to have to be removed from the rotation unless the team opts to go to a six-man
