  1. (Twins at White Sox -- Games 149-151

Cool Breeze, Eyes Closed (Twins 1 White Sox 12 - Game 149)

After getting our house Halloween ready the night before, I came home to a perfectly decorated house. The smell of fall blew through the windows and hung in the air.

It covered the stench of what Liam Hendriks was doing on the mound in Chicago. The Great Dane agreed with me.

If anyone's excited to see the Twins lose, it's Stella the Great Dane. She was traumatized when I jumped up and stomped around ...
  2. Gut Rot (Twins at Indians - Games 127-129)

Cheating On My Mind (Twins 5 Indians 1 - Game 127)

I missed cheering for Deduno, who held the Indians to 3 hits in 6 innings. I was excited after the game ended, but I forgot Close Encounter of the Wild Kind took the mound.

Truth is, Twins gang, I’ve been sending all my hopes and dreams down Pittsburgh’s way. If the Pirates have a winning season I’ll screech in joy. If they make the playoffs I’ll hit a sports bar to watch.

The Pirates have made for a nice baseball ...
  3. Game 4 - Everything Awful Returns

A day after imaging a Twins path to the playoffs, everything awful I was expecting from the team showed up for 9 innings of baseball. Mauer didn't get a hit. The starting pitcher didn't go 5 innings. The bullpen gave out like a bad back.

To top it off, the sky filled with snow while the game was on. I didn't catch much of this one - just enough to give me the idea that Liam Hendriks might be a threat to my blood pressure this year.

Snow after opening day is like getting ...

ID:	2397It is easy to despair over Liam Hendriks after starts like the one he turned in on Monday night against the Yankees, when he coughed up four homers en route to his eighth loss in 15 tries for the Twins this year.

Certainly the right-hander has offered little cause for encouragement here in his first extended exposure to the majors, but we shouldn't let these rocky outings completely sour us on his long-term outlook.

    Earlier this month, Aaron ...

  5. Yep looking to 2013 already.

by , 09-17-2012 at 01:51 PM ("And we'll see ya' ... tomorrow night.")
I am a very frustrated Twins fan right now. I am looking at what could be a complete overhaul, or a spending spree for 2013. I am not sure what to root for. As of this second you have to look at what the Twins could throw on the mound next opening day roster.

    Gibson?
    Baker?
    Diamond
    Walters?
    De Vries?
    Deduno?
    Hendriks?
    Duensing? (Please no)
    Blackburn? (Please no)

So lets look at diving into free agency this off season, ...
  6. Changing Luck

Back in February, I framed the Twins' rotation as a series of five coin flips. Looking back, it's funny how the worst case scenario seems to have struck in every single situation:

Carl Pavano … Heads, he remembers how to miss a few extra bats and returns to the form he showed while winning 17 games two years ago. Tails, his performance continues to descend as he ages into his late 30s.
Francisco Liriano … Heads, he regains his fastball command and helps power the top of
