  1. Friday Night Game Notes (Twins Win and Sano Shines!)

    The Twins improved to 5-9 with a 5-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. Denard Span, Jamey Carroll and Joe Mauer each had two hits, but it was again Josh Willingham who played hero in this game. With the Twins down 4-2 in the 7th, the bases were loaded with two outs and Willingham came to the plate.   2. Sunday Game Notes and Highlights

    The Twins took a tough 4-3 loss on Sunday afternoon to fall to 2-7 on the young season. The Twins arrived in New York City on Sunday night and will play four games against the Yankees starting on Monday. They then go to Tampa to play the Rays before getting to play the Red Sox. We all knew it would be a tough start to the season. It’s definitely shaping up to be just that. Down on the farm, the Twins affiliates went 3-1, and at least there are plenty of storylines to follow.

  3. Valencia Vaults Twins Past Pirates

    It's no secret that the Twins have really struggled offensively to this point in spring training. That remained the case on Saturday when, in this sixth inning, the Twins were down 2-1 to the Pirates. Valencia stepped to the plate with two runners on and uncorked a long home run to give the Twins a 4-2 lead. The bullpen held the lead and the Twins got the win.
