  1. Twins Minor League Relief Pitcher of the Month - April

Each month here at Twins Daily, we will be posting choices for Twins minor league relief pitcher, starting pitcher and hitter of the month. First, I want to share with you some of the top relief pitchers in the Twins minor league system in the month of April. I'll follow up over the next 24 hours with the starting pitcher and hitter of the month.

However, let's start with the Top 6 Relief Pitchers in April:

    Number 6 Ė Ft. Myers Ė Ricky Bowen - 8 G, 1.96 ERA, 1.09 ...
  2. The Merry-Go-Round Rotation

Francisco Liriano needs to miss two starts to clear his head, Carl Pavano needs a couple extra days rest to fix his velocity. Between those two pitchers and the others in the rotation that have had injuries and needed extra time off, the Twins' rotation has started coming apart at the seams...and it is only April 30th! With the front office not looking (or even pretending they are looking) to bring in some new faces, I am not entirely sure how the rotation expects to survive the season. A few different ...

  3. Friday Night Minor League Lights

The Twins lost yet again in a back-and-forth battle against the Royals. The Twins had plenty of runners on base again but didnít get enough to score. There was the occasional good pitch, good (or umpire-assisted) defensive plays and some bad luck. Carl Pavano just didnít have it, and the defense was also unable to hold a lead. The Twins have now lost six in a row. The Royals have won 3-0.

  4. Three Wishes

You are walking down the street on this Friday afternoon when you bump into something. You look down and notice that you just kicked a lamp of some sorts. You reach down and notice that it's quite dirty, so you start to rub it and notice that it is quite shiny. Suddenly, smoke starts coming out of the lamps opening and POOF! A magic genie is kind of floating in front of you. At least you hope it is a magic genie because otherwise the guy standing in front of you is a little scary.

  5. Thursday Night Minor League Lights

The Twins had a much-needed day off on Thursday. Players were able to stay at home (or in their hotel room, or wherever theyíre staying), and get some things doneÖ hopefully that included getting some rest. The team will start a series against the Royals at home on Friday night. Hopefully the Twins bats can tee off against lefty Everett Teaford!

  6. Draft a College Pitcher? Are you sure?

I canít imagine that there is a worse starting rotation in Major League Baseball than the Minnesota Twins. It was really bad last year. They added only Jason Marquis in the offseason. Scott Baker had elbow surgery that turned into Tommy John surgery. Francisco Liriano, who teased in spring training, has been so bad that heís having a skipped start after just four starts. The Twins starting staff has an ERA over seven right now.

Understandably, the thing we hear from most Twins fans ...

  9. Wednesday Night Twins Minor League Game Notes

The Twins and Red Sox are battling in a suddenly-close game in the late innings of the final game of what has been an immensely frustrating series for the Twins and their fans. Which is another good reason to follow the Twins minor league games. Thereís always plenty of positive to be taken from the games, even if three of the four Twins affiliates lost.

Here is a look at the Twins minor league scores and highlights from Wednesday:

  10. Tuesday Night Game Notes

The Twins were pretty well dominated by the Red Sox on Tuesday night, losing 11-2. Nick Blackburn was crushed. Matt Maloney was crushed. The offense didnít come through. There was even some bad defense. Itsí a good thing that there are plenty of positive things going on in the Twins farm system to give us positive stuff to talk about!

  11. Tracking the Twins Top Prospects

Over 60 Twins minor leaguers were adopted in yesterday's Twins Adopt-a-Propsect. If you are interested, you can still adopt a Twins prospect by clicking here and selecting a Twins minor leaguer. There is a huge interest in the Twins minor league system, and for good reason. Although you may read or hear that the Twins farm system is struggling and middle-of-the-pack, that certainly does not mean that there are not people worth tracking.

That's what we'll do here today. In each of the ...
  12. Monday Night in the Minors

As I type this, the Twins and the Red Sox are sitting at 5-5 in the 7th inning. Who knows how long that game will go. All three Twins minor league games were in the Eastern time zone, so those games are all complete.

  13. Sunday Game Notes and Highlights

The Twins lost 6-2 on Sunday afternoon to the Rays meaning they were 3-4 on the road trip. Francisco Liriano had his fourth straight Lirianic start. It wasnít pretty. Josh Willinghamís hitting streak came to an end. All-in-all, it appears that it would be a great time for the team to head back to home, to Target Field, for a series against the scuffling Boston Red Sox. Of course, they will get to face Jon Lester, Josh Beckett and Clay Buchholz, so it isnít as though it gets easy.

  14. Saturday Night in the Park (Game Notes)

It was a terrific pitcherís dual through five-and-a-half innings. In fact, Carl Pavano was one out from getting out of the bottom of the 6th inning. Then came a blooper and an error. The Rays had a 3-0 lead, made it 4-0 later, and despite a late run for the Twins, they fell 4-1 to the Rays. In reality, after the Rays got the lead, thing were not pretty for the Twins. Jamey Carroll committed his first error. Danny Valencia misplayed a ground ball. Jeff Gray inexplicably did not allow a run in the ...
