  1. Rumor Mill Round-Up: 1/6

The last two weeks have been rather slow for the Twins, as well as all of baseball and the corporate world in general. Holidays falling on successive Wednesdays will do that. With that season now officially over, things should start kicking back into gear.

And fortunately, even though we've seen little meaningful roster action recently, there are still plenty of intrepid reporters working diligently to keep our rumor appetites satiated. Let's get caught up on all Twins-related whispers: ...

  5. The Case for Stephen Drew

It is now 2014 and Stephen Drew is still a free agent. There has been speculation regarding the Twins possibly making a run at Drew. Some are in favor of a possible signing, while some are against it. This is a common theme when speculating transactions. Everyone is going to have their opinion.

Here is my case for signing Stephen Drew.

  6. The Ken Burns' Test

In one week, the Hall of Fame will announce who (if anyone) was elected to Cooperstown. There are a privileged few who get to vote for those hallowed halls, but just because most bloggers don't have a say, doesn't mean we can't use our blogs to have a say about literally everything else, including silly little exercises in analyzing Hall of Fame voting.

Last year I offered an economist's sense of how to vote in order to maximize your ballot. This year, as I continue to avoid ...

  9. Twins Prospects: 50-46

I know I am a little bit late from other bloggers, but I am on holiday vacation and thought this would be a good time to do my top 50 prospect list. Starting today I will be bringing you five prospects a day with a quick scouting reports and a ETA when I think they will be ready to come up. My list is by no means supposed to be in the league of the great Seth Stohs and you should definately order his 2014 Twins prospect handbook along with Jeremy Nygaard and Cody Christie. However, this is my ...

  10. Twins have Cause for Optimism

The past three years have been rough ones in Minnesota; the tables tell you that. They have been winning games in the mid-60s and flirting with their first 100-loss season since way back in 1982.

However, sides can sneak up on people and, when you look at all that has been happening at the franchise of late, it makes you wonder if the Twins might be able to sneak back over the 70 wins marker and actually go a bit further than that and surprise fans betting MLB World Series.

ID:	6262These are trying times if you're the coach of a local professional sports team. Vikings head coach Leslie Frasier got the axe last week following a season that saw his team lose 10 games. Mike Yeo is on the hot seat with the Wild under-performing. And Rick Adelman might just give up with the number of tribulations that seem to endlessly plague the Timberwolves.

Ron Gardenhire has endured more losing than any local coach over the past three years, and ...

  12. What should Twins response be to Yankees attempt to control the internation market

According to a post I saw yesterday on mlbtraderumors the Yankees were quoted as saying money was no object to them in the international market.
Teams are given a set amount to spend in the international market and then a 100% luxury tax kicks in along with other penalties. The Yankees have I believe somewhere around 2 million to spend and they are talking in the range of 12-15 million not including the luxury tax.
Do the small market and mid market teams need to stand up and make ...
